From Goethe: “The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too and a whole stream of events issues from the decision raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.”
Picked this up from an article I read on YoSushi founder Simon Woodroffe. It speaks to me of God’s general will and freedom he gives us. To me the argument for specific will is dangerous (perhaps paralyzing) if you are risk adverse and/or starting a business. At some point you need to just take the plunge. Starting a business is not for the faint hearted.
With planning, wise counsel, prayer, seeking the Holy Spirit’s direction in community & alone, knowing your character and motivation, assessing your capacity, gaining knowledge, some educated risk, passion, etc. I think God will be like a breeze in your sails, directing you as necessary. Sometimes storms come but he still is the safe harbour and the breeze. For in Him we live and move and have our being.
